As soon as enterprise customers start demanding for some basic rights, those networking giant companies will have no choice but to accomodate them, because their bottom-line health depends on keeping those customers happy and coming back for more hardware refresh. I have been purchasing hardware for my company for the last 5 years and never thought anything of buying maintenance services with it. But in the back of my mind, I always thought that a certain OEM was ripping us off by charging a hefty premium for basic maintenance! I think I'll definitely look into the renewal more carefully (and consider possible alternatives) from now on. On another note, why isn't there a watchdog to keep the OEMs in line?!?
